CONNECTED MICROWAVE
We built a giant microwave in the streets of Paris that was controlled by fans on social media.
Iglo is the leading frozen food brand in France. They had no social media assets and wanted to launch a fan page
on Facebook. In order to attract users, we created a giant microwave placed in the middle of Paris, that could be controlled by fans on Iglo Facebook page. Users could see a live stream from Park Villette, where the Giant Microwave was located, and could choose between different microwave functions like grill, hot steam or defrost that were triggered by buttons in the facebook application. In the end, all the participants got a chance to win the prize that was hidden inside a giant ice block defrosted by the microwave. This was one of the first “IoT based” projects I made, using connected objects via arduino where an action (like pushing a button) in a website triggers a physical action in the “real world”.
